My name is Ryland Perry. Graphic Design is my life. I work as a freelance designer in North Carolina and teach graphic design at the local high school and an online course at the community college. I have a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Graphic Design from Savannah College of Art and Design and I am currently working towards my Masters of Fine Arts in Media Design from Full Sail University. I specialize in brand development and typography. My favorite projects are developing new logos and brands for small businesses or designing menus for local restaurants. My strength is print design, I managed a print shop for almost four years, designing and printing collateral materials for local businesses. I am also incredibly organized and can manage up to 30 projects at a time with ease.
I have known I wanted to be a graphic designer from a young age. I started drawing when I was 6, sitting at the table drawing still life’s with my father, and at 15 I started taking graphic design classes. I switched high school to take graphic design classes earlier. After high school, I attended community college for two years, then transferred to Savannah College of Art and Design where I obtained my bachelor’s degree. I am extremely passionate about teaching graphic design to high school students because I attended a program very similar to the one I am teaching, and I love giving these passionate students a glimpse into what a future of graphic design may hold.
When I am not sitting in front my MacBook Pro designing, teaching, or learning; you will likely find me hiking in the blue ridge mountains with my chihuahua or getting a craft beer with my wife, Ren.
